Letter to Union Home Minister Cites Evidence Tampering and "Benami" Dealings
A prominent figure from the BRS party has formally petitioned Union Home Minister Amit Shah, calling for a thorough investigation by central agencies into alleged malpractices surrounding government contracts awarded to a firm named KLSR Infratech. The BRS leader, identified as K. T. Rama Rao, claims that the Chief Minister has directly influenced officials to obscure crucial evidence pertaining to these dealings. The crux of the accusation revolves around the perception that KLSR Infratech operates as a "benami" entity, linked indirectly to the Chief Minister, and has disproportionately benefited from state contracts despite undergoing insolvency proceedings.

Rama Rao’s missive, reportedly copied to other Union ministers including Nirmala Sitharaman, Piyush Goyal, and Arjun Ram Meghwal, specifically requests the intervention of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the Enforcement Directorate (ED), and the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO). The allegations are amplified by reports that vital evidence concerning the KLSR Infratech case has reportedly gone missing from official custody, a development brought to the attention of the Telangana High Court. This disappearance of evidence is framed by Rama Rao as a direct consequence of the Chief Minister's alleged pressure on state officials.

The BRS leader further contends that the law and order situation in Telangana is deteriorating, with the missing evidence incident serving as a stark illustration. Rama Rao pointed to the alleged financial connections between KLSR Infratech and Sai Mourya, a company purportedly linked to the Chief Minister’s brother-in-law, as further substantiation for the "benami" claim. He asserted that, even after KLSR Infratech entered insolvency proceedings before the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) and later the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT), massive government contracts, estimated at ₹2,500 crore, were subsequently awarded to the firm.

Context and Accusations
The correspondence highlights a period where KLSR Infratech was undergoing corporate insolvency resolution. According to Rama Rao, the Chief Minister actively worked behind the scenes to secure favorable outcomes for the company, allegedly influencing officials to suppress information and protect the firm from scrutiny. The BRS leader claims to possess evidence supporting these assertions, suggesting that KLSR Infratech has functioned as a front for the Chief Minister since its inception. An incident involving a fire at the Telangana State Forensic Science Laboratory was also referenced in relation to the case, though its direct connection to the alleged tampering remains detailed in separate reporting. Another entity, AS Met Corp, was also mentioned in the context of enforcement actions.
