Nvidia has unveiled a new superchip, dubbed RTX Spark, designed to bring advanced artificial intelligence capabilities directly into Windows laptops and desktops. This new hardware aims to power what Nvidia describes as "personal AI agents," enabling computers to perform complex AI tasks locally rather than relying solely on cloud processing. The company announced the chip at its annual GTC event in Taipei, with new PC models from manufacturers like Microsoft and Dell expected later this year.

The RTX Spark chip integrates Nvidia's existing AI and graphics technologies, including CUDA and RTX, into a single unit. It boasts 1 petaflop of AI performance and offers up to 128GB of unified memory, alongside a focus on power efficiency. This architecture is intended to allow personal computers to run sophisticated AI agents directly on the device. Nvidia is collaborating with Microsoft to ensure a native Windows experience, incorporating new security features and a technology called NVIDIA OpenShell for secure agent operation on primary devices.
