A Familiar Presence
Shakira is no stranger to creating anthems for the quadrennial football event. Her previous contributions include:
'Hips Don't Lie' (2006 World Cup closing ceremony)
'Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)' (Official 2010 World Cup anthem)
'La La La (Brazil 2014)' (Theme song for the 2014 World Cup)
Her 2010 hit, 'Waka Waka', remains one of the most iconic sports songs ever produced for a World Cup. "Dai Dai" is positioned as a follow-up to this celebrated legacy.
The 48-team tournament runs from June 11 to July 19.
