Bill Kahan Kapri, known professionally as Kodak Black, was arrested on Wednesday in Orange County, Florida, facing a felony charge of trafficking MDMA. The quantity of MDMA in question falls between 14 and 200 grams, according to a warrant obtained by investigators.
The rapper, 28, is accused of being involved in a drug trafficking incident stemming from a November 2025 event. Authorities were initially called to a non-profit for reports of gunfire, where they encountered several individuals and two vehicles, a BMW SUV and a Lamborghini SUV. Suspected narcotics, cash, and firearms were reportedly found inside the Lamborghini.
Kodak Black's attorney, Bradford Cohen, characterized the arrest as a "coordinated surrender." Cohen disputes the circumstances of the investigation, stating that law enforcement searched a vehicle where the rapper was allegedly not present. Investigators reportedly found a bottle of prescription cough syrup at the scene, which was fingerprinted, and subsequently compared items from the vehicle, including a bag and lighter, to images from Kodak Black's Instagram accounts.

The arrest adds to a substantial legal history for the Pompano Beach-born artist. In the past, Kapri has faced charges including armed robbery, weapons possession, and sexual assault. A prior federal conviction for making false statements on government forms resulted in a sentence of 46 months, which was later commuted. He also served probation related to state charges.
Records indicate that Jammiah Broomfield, the mother of one of Kodak Black's children, was also arrested last month on drug trafficking charges in Fort Lauderdale. Kodak Black remains in custody, with jail records showing no bond set for the current charge.
