Lucknow Super Giants secured a commanding seven-wicket victory over Chennai Super Kings, fueled by a destructive innings from Mitchell Marsh and a brisk finish from Nicholas Pooran.
The Super Giants successfully chased down a target of 188 with 20 balls to spare, largely due to an explosive 90 off 38 balls by Marsh, who shared a crucial 135-run opening partnership with Josh Inglis. Inglis contributed a steady 36 off 32 balls. The win, LSG's fourth of the season, deals a significant blow to Chennai's playoff aspirations.
The Chennai Super Kings had set a competitive total of 187 for 5 in their 20 overs. The innings was anchored by Kartik Sharma, who top-scored with 71. He was supported by contributions from Shivam Dube, who remained unbeaten on 32 from just 16 deliveries, and Dewald Brevis, who chipped in with 25 off 16 balls. However, the CSK bowling attack struggled to contain the LSG openers.
Nicholas Pooran sealed the victory for Lucknow, remaining not out on 32 from 17 balls. He finished the match with a flourish, hitting the last four balls for sixes. Mukul Choudhary also remained unbeaten on 13.

On the bowling front for Lucknow, Akash Singh (also referred to as Akash Maharaj Singh in one report) was the most effective, claiming three wickets for 26 runs in his four overs. Mohammed Shami and Shahbaz Ahmed also picked up a wicket each for CSK. For Chennai, Mukesh Choudhary and Spencer Johnson were the primary wicket-takers.
Marsh's blistering knock, which included seven sixes, was cut short when he was run out. Despite this setback, the platform laid by the opening stand ensured LSG remained in firm control of the chase. The defeat marks another stumble for CSK in their bid to reach the latter stages of the tournament.
