Kyiv, Ukraine - A violent incident unfolded in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv on Saturday, resulting in the deaths of at least six individuals, including the gunman. Ukrainian officials, including Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko and Mayor Vitali Klitschko, confirmed the casualty count and stated that police engaged and killed the perpetrator during an arrest attempt.
The attack began on a street in the Holosiivskyi district, where four people were reportedly killed before the gunman entered a nearby supermarket. Inside the store, another individual was killed, and hostages were taken. Attempts by police negotiators to establish contact with the gunman for approximately 40 minutes were unsuccessful, leading tactical units to storm the building.
