A third teenager faces murder charges following the death of 15-year-old Darweish Mohamed, who was fatally stabbed metres from the Craigieburn Community Hospital on Wednesday evening. Two other teenagers, aged 15 and 16, have already been charged with the same offense. Mohamed was discovered with critical injuries in the hospital car park around 7:50 PM. Despite prompt efforts by hospital staff to administer CPR, he could not be saved and died at the scene.
A burnt-out car, believed to be connected to the incident, was discovered in Oaklands Junction, a location more than 10 kilometres from where Mohamed was found. The investigation is ongoing, with police treating the death as a homicide. Mohamed was a student at Mount Ridley College.
Arrests and Charges
The latest arrest brings the total number of teenagers charged in relation to the stabbing to three. The two previously charged youths are also minors, identified only by their ages. The investigation has been significant, involving substantial police resources. The precise circumstances leading to the stabbing and the relationship between the accused and the victim remain central to the ongoing inquiry.

Background Context
This incident follows a separate, but similarly reported, event last month in Toronto, where a third teenager was charged with first-degree murder in connection with the stabbing death of a 14-year-old boy. In that instance, two 16-year-old males had previously surrendered to police and faced similar charges. The temporal and geographical disjunctions between these events are notable, highlighting distinct occurrences of youthful violence within different jurisdictions, yet sharing the grim narrative of teenage fatalities.
