Authorities across several regions have reported significant successes in their efforts to curb theft, announcing the apprehension of multiple individuals in connection with a variety of unlawful acquisitions. These operations have reportedly led to the recovery of stolen property valued in the tens of millions.
In one broad sweep, Kalaburagi City Police claim to have cracked 65 theft cases, leading to the arrest of 114 individuals. Recovered items in this operation alone were reported to be worth nearly ₹80 lakh. The seized property included over 936 grams of gold jewellery valued at ₹53.16 lakh, 1,908 grams of silver ornaments worth ₹1.33 lakh, electronic items estimated at ₹25,54,500, and ₹3.40 lakh in cash. The police identified a breakdown of the cases as 25 house break-ins during the night, six during the day, five thefts within homes, and 29 ordinary theft incidents.
Other notable operations include the Villupuram police, who reported solving 339 cases and recovering stolen property and cash valued at ₹2 crore. In a separate incident, Mumbai police announced the recovery of approximately 3 kg of gold ornaments worth ₹4.5 crore and around 5 kg of silver ornaments worth ₹15 lakh in connection with a large burglary case.

Regional Crackdowns Yield Arrests and Recoveries
Authorities in the Sri Sathya Sai district have also reported a significant haul, arresting offenders in connection with house break-ins, transformer thefts, and temple hundi robberies. The recovered property was valued at over ₹20 lakh, including 100 grams of gold jewellery and a car worth ₹5 lakh, as well as 657 kg of aluminium wire valued at ₹6 lakh. In a separate operation within the same district, police recovered cash, gold, and silver items worth ₹12 lakh from a house burglar.

The Palghar crime unit has arrested three individuals described as habitual offenders in housebreak and vehicle theft cases, recovering property worth ₹1.21 lakh. Meanwhile, in Budgam, police reported solving three theft cases and recovering property valued at ₹6 lakh.

Further reports indicate the arrest of seven individuals in Kalaburagi for robbery and house burglary, with property worth nearly ₹26 lakh recovered, including gold and vehicles. In another instance, police in Kalaburagi arrested two individuals for house burglary, recovering stolen property exceeding ₹16 lakh.

Smaller Scale Operations and Specific Incidents
Operations in other areas have also led to arrests and recoveries. The Hudkeshwar police in Nagpur announced the arrest of a man involved in house burglary and vehicle theft, solving six cases and recovering property worth ₹6.55 lakh. Similarly, a burglar was apprehended in Delhi, with goods worth approximately ₹4 lakh recovered.
An interstate mobile theft gang was reportedly busted, with 14 phones valued at ₹9 lakh recovered. In Hubballi, two individuals were arrested within six hours of a complaint, recovering jewellery and valuables worth ₹7.5 lakh.

Authorities in Hyderabad reported arresting three people in two separate theft cases, recovering gold and silver ornaments worth about ₹31 lakh. In a different case, police arrested an interstate thief with 28 cases, recovering goods worth ₹20 lakh, including jewellery and a scooter. This individual reportedly used Google Maps for identifying targets.
The Waliv police have arrested three individuals in connection with housebreak and vehicle theft, recovering property valued at ₹1.21 lakh.
