Countess Athena of Denmark, 14, recently underwent her confirmation at Georgetown Lutheran Church in Washington, D.C. The rite of passage, held on Saturday, May 2nd, saw the young royal surrounded by her family. Notably, official photographs released by the Danish Royal House capture a lighthearted scene: Athena is seen being lifted horizontally by her three brothers – Count Henrik (16), Count Nikolai (26), and Count Felix (23).
The confirmation marks a significant milestone for Countess Athena, the youngest child of Prince Joachim and Princess Marie. Her presence in the United States is a result of Prince Joachim's diplomatic role as the defence industry attaché at the Danish Embassy in Washington, D.C., a move the family made in 2023. While the family's current residence is in the U.S., they are slated to return to Denmark in 2027.
