The Cleveland Browns have officially sidelined linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah for the entire 2026 season. This decision, announced Friday, places him on the reserve/physically unable to perform (PUP) list for the second consecutive year. Owusu-Koramoah's return to play remains uncertain following a significant neck injury sustained in October 2024.
The Browns' general manager, Andrew Berry, expressed a lack of optimism regarding Owusu-Koramoah's playing prospects for 2026 earlier this year at the NFL combine. The linebacker has not seen action since the October 2024 game where the injury occurred while attempting a tackle. Following the incident, Owusu-Koramoah was immobilized and transported to a hospital. While he reportedly regained movement in his extremities, his absence from the field now extends across two full seasons.
There are now persistent doubts surfacing about whether the 26-year-old Owusu-Koramoah will ever return to professional football. His absence from the PUP list means he is barred from participating in any team activities throughout the 2026 season.

Academic Pursuits Amidst Injury
In addition to his sidelined status with the Browns, Owusu-Koramoah is slated to begin pursuing his master's degree in public policy at the Harvard Kennedy School this fall. His career statistics prior to his injury include 49 games played, with notable figures such as 302 tackles, eight sacks, three interceptions, 17 passes defensed, six forced fumbles, and 40 tackles for loss. The team also designated punter Nik Constantinou as their international player.
