The All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) has declared its first batch of nine nominees for the approaching Assam assembly contests. The selection prominently features three incumbent Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs), indicating a strategy of continuity for these seats. Alongside the returning legislators, the list introduces two women candidates, signalling an attempt to broaden the party's appeal.

The party has put forward Aminul Islam, Hafiz Rafiqul Islam, and Nizanur Rahman as its candidates for the Rupahihat, Mandia, and Gauripur constituencies, respectively. This initial announcement marks the formal commencement of the AIUDF's campaign preparations.

Other candidates revealed include Rejaul Karim Sarkar, who is slated to contest from the Srijanpur seat. Sarkar's political trajectory has seen recent shifts; he briefly joined the Congress in January but exited after facing public criticism for remarks he made concerning the Sivasagar and Dhubri constituencies.
