Washington D.C. – A security incident involving gunfire interrupted the annual White House Correspondents' Dinner at the Washington Hilton hotel on Saturday evening, causing immediate pandemonium and the swift evacuation of President Donald Trump and other high-ranking officials. At least five shots were heard around 8:35 p.m. ET, according to initial reports.
The alleged shooter, identified as 31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen of Torrance, California, was reportedly a guest at the hotel and was armed with multiple weapons, including guns and knives. Authorities stated that Allen admitted to law enforcement following his arrest that his intention was to target Trump administration officials. One security agent sustained injuries and received medical treatment.
Video footage circulating widely captures the startling moments attendees ducked for cover, and Secret Service agents responded to the scene. President Trump, after being rushed to safety, later commented that law enforcement requested his departure from the venue. He reportedly told reporters that he was unaware of any specific threats prior to the incident. The president also mentioned that the event organizers planned to reschedule the dinner for approximately one month later.

Eyewitness accounts and photographic evidence depict scenes of shattered glass and media personnel documenting the aftermath outside the venue.
