Significant escalation in aerial assaults on the UAE recorded, with air defense systems reportedly intercepting hundreds of projectiles in recent days. The country's Ministry of Defence has detailed a steady stream of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones targeting its territory, a situation unfolding against a backdrop of broader regional tensions.
The reported interceptions include a substantial number of unmanned aerial vehicles and ballistic missiles. Official statements indicate that in a 24-hour period, six ballistic missiles and 125 drones were intercepted. Another report details the destruction of nine ballistic missiles and 109 drones on a single Friday. Cumulatively, the UAE states it has detected and destroyed 190 ballistic missiles out of 205 detected since the start of Iran's attacks, with a smaller number falling within its territory or at sea. Hundreds of drones, numbering in the thousands in total reported detections, have also been intercepted.

Casualties and Damage
The ongoing aerial activity has not been without consequence. Reports confirm three fatalities and 68 minor injuries among citizens and residents of various nationalities, including Pakistani, Nepalese, Bangladeshi, Egyptian, Ethiopian, Filipino, Indian, and others. Debris from intercepted projectiles has caused minor to moderate material damage to several civilian properties.

Airspace Disruptions and Public Information
The intercepts have led to temporary disruptions. Dubai International Airport experienced a temporary shutdown following interceptions, though operations have since resumed. Authorities have repeatedly urged the public to rely solely on official sources for information, warning against the circulation of rumors and unverified content, particularly on social media. The Ain Dubai Ferris wheel is also noted as remaining closed.
Regional Context
While the focus is on UAE interceptions, other regional players have also reported similar actions. Saudi Arabia has confirmed intercepting three ballistic missiles targeting Prince Sultan Air Base. Bahrain's air defenses have reported downing a significant number of missiles and drones since the conflict began.
