Two children's bodies were discovered within the ruins of a house fire near the Blue Mountains, New South Wales, early Monday morning. The discovery follows an emergency services response to a property on Lieutenant Bowen Road, Bowen Mountain, after reports of a blaze shortly after 2am.
The recovered bodies are believed to be those of two children who were reported missing following the inferno. Reports indicate one body was found on the ground floor and the other upstairs within the structure. Fire crews reportedly battled the flames for over an hour, bringing the fire under control around 3:30 am.
ESCAPE AND INJURY
A man, understood to be a parent, and four other children managed to escape the burning residence. They were subsequently transported to Nepean Hospital in Penrith. Their conditions were reported as involving smoke inhalation and minor burns.
