Three women perished in a roadside collision late Saturday night near Devanahalli, approximately 40 kilometers from Bengaluru. The women, identified as part of a Stree Shakthi Sangha group from Tiptur in Tumakuru district, were en route to the Kempegowda International Airport. Their ultimate destination was Kashi, a significant spiritual center. The incident, involving a tempo traveller and a lorry, also left at least 12 individuals injured, with the three deceased reportedly seated on one side of the passenger vehicle.

The collision occurred around 11:50 p.m. on Saturday, March 21st, on the Rani Circle flyover down-ramp along NH-648, a stretch connecting Hoskote to Doddaballapur. Reports suggest the passenger vehicle, a tempo traveller carrying approximately 15 people, collided with a lorry. The severity of the impact resulted in the immediate death of the three women. Authorities, including Devanahalli traffic police, were dispatched to the scene following the accident.

This incident underscores the inherent dangers of road travel, particularly for long-distance journeys. The group had reportedly pooled resources through their self-help initiative to fund the pilgrimage, a testament to their shared faith and endeavor. The accident transforms a journey of spiritual aspiration into one of profound loss and sorrow. The road infrastructure, specifically the Satellite Town Ring Road (STRR) where the accident took place, has become the site of this unfortunate event.

The convergence of faith and travel, in this instance, led to a tragic end. The journey, which began from Tiptur around 10 p.m., was aimed at catching a flight to Varanasi. The accident, however, curtailed their spiritual quest prematurely. Further details regarding the exact sequence of events leading to the collision, such as the speed of the vehicles or potential mechanical failures, remain under official scrutiny.
