Chandigarh, Punjab – State authorities are actively observing the availability of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) as rumors of a potential shortage begin to circulate. Officials maintain that supply lines remain functional, even as political opposition points to disruptions.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has directed all Deputy Commissioners to remain vigilant, ensuring no undue hardship for consumers and to clamp down on any attempts at hoarding or unfair pricing. The Chief Minister's office has indicated that the situation is under "close watch" and that a temporary disruption in the supply of commercial cylinders is being addressed.
"The Punjab Government is fully alert and monitoring the situation closely," stated CM Mann.
This governmental pronouncement comes in the wake of a spate of reports indicating that households and commercial establishments have experienced supply issues over the past few days. The Congress party in Punjab has publicly challenged the ruling administration, demanding clarity on the LPG supply chain across the state.

Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring alleged that "gas supply crisis has hit both commercial and domestic consumers, with households also going without supplies for the last few days."
The state government has sought to allay fears, with CM Mann emphasizing that black marketing or overcharging will not be tolerated. He has also reportedly taken up the matter with the Union government to guarantee sufficient LPG cylinder stock. A Minister of State in neighboring Haryana also commented on the smooth supply of essential fuels, including domestic LPG, within his jurisdiction.
