Perth, Australia – Dr. Chia Liang Saw, a 41-year-old paediatrician, is confronting a rapidly expanding list of serious allegations, including numerous counts of sexual offending against children and the possession of child exploitation material. The gravity of the accusations, which now involve at least 10 alleged victims, has led to his registration being suspended by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
The legal proceedings against Dr. Saw have been significantly influenced by information reportedly provided by an individual identifying as a "vigilante" targeting those they perceive as child sex offenders. This self-styled hunter is alleged to have engaged in online communication with Dr. Saw, a fact that has now entered the court's consideration.

Dr. Saw, who previously specialised in childhood behavioural issues and practiced in Midland and Nedlands, has been charged with a multitude of offences. These include allegations of sexual penetration, indecent dealing, indecently recording children, and using electronic communication to procure a child for sexual activity. The prosecution has also detailed accusations involving the alleged installation of hidden cameras within his examination rooms, a detail that emerged as police reviewed footage.

The number of alleged victims has steadily climbed since the initial charges were laid. What began with a single patient complaint has expanded, with police identifying an additional eight potential victims after reviewing evidence, including footage from the alleged hidden cameras.
Dr. Saw has made several appearances in Perth Magistrates Court, with his most recent court date occurring on July 3rd. He is scheduled for further proceedings, including a bail application hearing, on June 30th. The magistrate has indicated a reluctance to consider bail without more comprehensive information regarding the case.
The investigation, spearheaded by the Child Abuse Squad, continues to explore the full extent of the alleged offending. Authorities have seized electronic devices belonging to Dr. Saw for forensic analysis.
