Coleen Lamarre, mother of Beau Lamarre-Condon, the former police officer accused of murdering Jesse Baird and Luke Davies, will remain in custody for at least two weeks. Lamarre, 63, faces charges of perverting the course of justice, specifically for allegedly attempting to influence a key witness in her son's upcoming trial.
Lamarre was arrested at her Balmain home on Wednesday and subsequently charged. Her case was mentioned in the NSW local court's bail division on Thursday, where her solicitor indicated an application for bail would be made. A two-hour hearing is scheduled for next Tuesday. Lamarre-Condon himself has been in custody since his arrest and was dismissed from the NSW Police Force. His trial is listed for September 21.
Lamarre-Condon is accused of using his police-issued firearm to kill Baird, a former Network 10 presenter, and Davies, a Qantas flight attendant, at Baird’s Paddington home. Lamarre-Condon has publicly alleged misconduct and corruption by some investigating officers. The witness in question reportedly informed police of the alleged attempted coercion prior to the trial, according to 9News.
