A case has been filed against Ameer, son of Manjeri MLA U.A. Latheef, and six other individuals for allegedly assaulting a shop owner and damaging his establishment in Manjeri. In a tangled turn of events, a counter-case has also been initiated against the MLA himself, accused of brandishing a knife towards Ameer and his companions.
The police assert that a comment made by the victim, Kooliyodan Latheef, purportedly ignited the retaliatory actions by Ameer and his associates. This alleged provocation stemmed from a response to a post by the MLA on his Facebook page, which touched upon a PWD road development project.
The reported altercation and destruction occurred on the night of March 3. Kooliyodan Latheef, identified as being from Mullampara, Manjeri, is the individual who allegedly posted the disparaging remark on the MLA's social media.
