Context and Observation
The dramatic increase in the pass percentage has drawn attention. While Madhu Bangarappa, Minister for School Education and Literacy, attributed the success to "a host of other reasons," a reduction in the passing marks from 35 to 33 for this academic year has been noted. The minister, however, downplayed its impact, stating only 5,575 students benefited from this specific change.
