Suspicious Package Lands, Authorities Scramble
Authorities have recovered a consignment, reportedly dropped by a Pakistani drone, near the International Border (IB) in the R S Pura sector of Jammu. The package, described as yellow and plastic-wrapped, weighed approximately 1.5 kilograms. Initial reports suggest its contents could be related to narcotics, with some sources indicating it contained around 2 kg of heroin valued at approximately Rs 12 crore.
The discovery was made after locals alerted authorities to a suspicious item in a forward area. Security forces, including the Border Security Force (BSF) and police, responded to the information and secured the consignment around 11 a.m. The package has not yet been opened, with measures such as a metal detector examination reportedly in place to ascertain its contents safely.
