Recent reports indicate Israeli fire has resulted in the deaths of at least nine Palestinians across Gaza, including two children. These fatalities stem from separate incidents occurring on Tuesday, as documented by local health officials and medics. The violence underscores ongoing tensions and challenges to a US-brokered ceasefire agreement.
Four individuals, identified as including a young child, perished in Gaza City when a strike targeted a police vehicle. Another child, identified as a 14-year-old, died from Israeli fire near Jabalia in northern Gaza. In another incident, a schoolgirl was shot and killed while attending a class in a tent in Beit Lahiya.
The Hamas-run Interior Ministry and Gaza's Health Ministry have been cited as sources for these figures, with over 750 Palestinians reported killed since the ceasefire deal took effect. In contrast, militants have been reported to have killed four Israeli soldiers during the same period.

Escalating Violence and Blame
Both Israel and Hamas have traded accusations regarding ceasefire violations. Israel's military stated it killed an armed militant near the armistice line in northern Gaza.
Broader Conflict Context
Separate reports highlight a larger conflict involving Hezbollah. Since March 2, thirteen Israeli soldiers have been killed in Lebanon, with Hezbollah attacks claiming two Israeli civilians. Israeli and US officials have maintained that their actions against Hezbollah are distinct from broader ceasefire negotiations, a stance that has been contested by Pakistan's prime minister.
The current Israeli government has banned Hezbollah's military wing, a move taken after the group engaged in cross-border fire with Israel.
A Pattern of Loss
Earlier reports from May 2025 detail a strike in Khan Yunis that killed nine children belonging to a pair of married doctors. The Israeli army stated it was reviewing those reports. Another incident in July 2025 saw an Israeli airstrike at a water station kill at least ten people, six of them children. A January 2026 report indicated Israeli forces killed at least eleven Palestinians, including two 13-year-old boys and three journalists. A June 2025 incident claimed eleven people seeking aid were killed by Israeli fire.

The broader conflict, triggered by a Hamas-led attack on southern Israel in October, has resulted in over 72,200 Palestinian deaths according to Gaza health officials.
