Eight individuals have been apprehended by authorities in Hyderabad, implicated in the distribution of MDMA. The operation, conducted by the Golconda Zone Task Force in tandem with Mehdipatnam police, yielded 137.60 grams of the contraband. Authorities stated the seized substances, along with a Volvo XC90 car, weighing scales, packing materials, and nine mobile phones, collectively represent a value of ₹26.8 lakh.
The individuals are accused of repackaging MDMA into smaller quantities for sale, with consumers reportedly paying between ₹2,000 and ₹3,000 per gram of the drug.
The arrested individuals were categorized by police as one alleged main peddler, three sub-peddlers, and four consumers. The primary figure identified is Shubham Kumar Mishra, 19, reportedly a Rapido rider. Investigations suggest the network utilized Rapido bike rides and other delivery methods to disseminate the drugs across the city. Police noted that Mishra allegedly continued his involvement despite a previous associate being incarcerated in a separate narcotics case, allegedly supported by two friends.
