A recent satirical skit, posted on the same day Cuba's government acknowledged talks with the United States, featured a figure impersonating President Trump arriving at Castro's doorstep. In the clip, a bartender offers Castro Cuba's national beer, Cristal. Another video showed Castro and a "Trump" impersonator riding in an electric tricycle, humorously dubbed "The Beast of the Cuban highway," traversing a Cuban road. These public performances have been interpreted by some as commentary on the deteriorating conditions his family's leadership is associated with.

"I am just one more citizen," Sandro Castro stated in an interview, asserting that he reflects the sentiments of many Cubans "fed up with the country’s direction."
Castro claims his actions are not an incitement to violence or a call for regime change, which he believes is why he was reportedly released with only a warning after engaging with authorities. He has indicated no intention to cease his video production, acknowledging that his family has sometimes requested he remove controversial posts, such as those that mock power outages and fuel shortages.
He added, "There are many people here who want to do capitalism with sovereignty."

His bar, named EFE in El Vedado, has been a backdrop for some of his controversial content. One instance that garnered particular ire involved posts celebrating his birthday while much of the nation experienced a blackout. This led to forced apologies and amplified public discontent. His following on Instagram has reportedly reached over 127,000 users.
