Financial Strain Surfaces Amidst Legal Maneuvers
Elijah Blue Allman, son of pop icon Cher, has stated his mother has ceased financial support. This development comes as Cher again seeks conservatorship over him, citing grave concerns for his well-being, mental health, and financial instability. Lawyers for Allman, 49, brought this financial shift to light in a filing to Los Angeles Superior Court. The filing, intended to address financial support for his estranged wife, Marieangela King, noted the change in his monetary circumstances.
Allman's legal team revealed his mother's financial support has been cut off, a detail emerging during ongoing conservatorship proceedings and discussions of spousal support for his estranged wife.
Previous Financial Entanglements and Legal Filings
This latest report surfaces against a backdrop of escalating legal actions. Cher has made multiple attempts to establish conservatorship over Elijah, arguing his "severely deteriorated" mental health and "terrible" financial situation, coupled with a significant drug dependency, have made him "gravely disabled." Court documents detailed alleged instances of destructive behavior, including thousands of dollars in damages to various accommodations and outstanding debts to a "drug dealer who tracked him down." His brother, Devon Allman, has also submitted declarations supporting the conservatorship, expressing concern for Elijah's safety and ability to manage funds.

Previous filings from December 2023 indicated Cher's belief that Elijah was unable to manage his financial assets due to his alleged health issues.
Cher has nominated private fiduciary Jason Rubin to oversee Elijah's finances, including managing his trust fund distributions and paying his expenses.
Estranged Wife's Claims and Inheritance Concerns
The conservatorship proceedings are further complicated by the ongoing divorce between Elijah Blue Allman and Marieangela King. King has reportedly asked the court to have Elijah's inheritance from his late father, Gregg Allman, considered for spousal support payments. Court documents have alluded to Elijah being aware of rulings regarding spousal support and fees, stating he would address them.
King initiated divorce proceedings on March 31st.
Elijah had previously contested the divorce request, asserting sobriety.
Pattern of Behavior and Past Conservatorship Efforts
Cher's filings have pointed to a recurring pattern: Elijah allegedly receives trust distributions, subsequently engages in drug use, leading to hospitalizations or overdoses, and incurs significant financial and property damage. Allegations include being "thrown out of a total of 18 hotels" due to erratic behavior and exhibiting "hyper-sexual behavior." These concerns led to a prior conservatorship request in December 2023, which Elijah reportedly "abandoned" a promise to improve his finances after.

Elijah has been hospitalized and faced multiple arrests in New Hampshire, leading to his current stay in a psychiatric facility.
Recent legal documents suggest Elijah may not grasp the consequences of his actions, with friends and family reportedly cleaning up financial and physical messes he's left behind.
Cher is reportedly seeking a financial conservatorship, distinct from a conservatorship of the person, which would limit his decision-making autonomy.
Elijah's brother, Devon Allman, described a recent visit as "unfortunate and profound sadness," noting Elijah "is currently a danger to himself and unable to manage his life."
