Fires Erupt at Two Studios, Vehicle Discovered Burned
Emergency services responded to separate blazes at two Pilates studios on the New South Wales Central Coast early Wednesday, January 21, 2026, with police treating the incidents as suspicious. A burnt-out sedan was also found at a third location shortly after the second fire was reported.
The first fire broke out around 4:30 AM on The Entrance Road in Erina. Responding officers found significant damage to the business. Just over an hour later, around 5:15 AM, a second fire was reported at another Pilates studio on Enterprise Drive in Berkeley Vale.
Tuggerah Lakes and Brisbane Water police districts have established crime scenes and are conducting investigations. The fires are believed to be linked, and detectives are probing whether they are connected to a similar incident last year. No injuries have been reported in relation to these incidents.

Arson Probe Continues
Inquiries are ongoing under 'Strike Force Fredonia'. Police have commenced investigations into the incidents, with details managed confidentially. Authorities are seeking information from the public regarding the fires.
Previous Incidents and Background
Police are investigating a potential link to a prior incident last year, which also involved a fire and a burnt-out car discovered in Mardi. The specifics of this previous event and its connection to the current investigations remain under examination.
The incidents highlight a broader trend in security footage capturing criminal acts. In a separate case from June 2019, a woman in Oklahoma was captured on her own CCTV system firing shots and firebombing her neighbor's home following a dispute. This event, while unrelated to the Pilates studio fires, illustrates the capacity for personal security systems to document violent actions.
The article also touches upon the nature of modern fitness establishments, referencing discussions around filming workout classes for social media. While not directly related to the arsons, it offers a glimpse into the contemporary landscape of fitness businesses.
