Cachar, Assam: In a significant operation targeting illicit substances, authorities in Assam’s Cachar district have seized approximately 538 grams of heroin, with an estimated market value of ₹3.25 crore. This seizure led to the apprehension of five individuals, reportedly found transporting the contraband in two vehicles intercepted along the Silchar-Kalain Road.

The operation, a joint effort involving the Cachar Police and the Assam Rifles, was initiated based on specific intelligence. During a search of the intercepted vehicles, the contraband was discovered concealed within 48 soap cases. Beyond the heroin, six mobile phones were also confiscated from the arrested suspects.
