Unexpected Turn in Legal Battles
In a Los Angeles courtroom, Alice Evans, 57, presented a startling assertion: her public "harassment and accusations" against ex-husband, Marvel actor Ioan Gruffudd, 52, might have inadvertently bolstered his professional standing. Evans' statements came during legal proceedings where Gruffudd seeks to make a domestic violence restraining order against her permanent, citing alleged ongoing harassment and reputational harm.
Evans herself suggested her extensive online commentary, which included claims of infidelity, was not intended to derail Gruffudd's career.

Evans, facing questioning on whether her online remarks were meant to damage Gruffudd's acting prospects, denied such intent. Instead, she pivoted to a critique of the film industry's ethical landscape and its prominent figures. This courtroom appearance, detailed in reports from March 6th, follows a protracted and public separation between the former couple.

Conflicting Narratives Emerge in Court
Gruffudd's manager, Mr. Mulcahy, previously testified in court that Evans' "malicious and false" social media posts negatively impacted Gruffudd's acting career. Mulcahy, who also once represented Evans, reportedly attempted to persuade her to remove disparaging remarks about Gruffudd.

Meanwhile, Evans detailed her own career sacrifices, stating she prioritized Gruffudd's work after the couple decided to have children. She also spoke of financial hardship, including facing eviction and needing financial assistance from friends and a GoFundMe campaign. Gruffudd, however, has contested her claims of destitution, according to court filings from October 2025.

Background to the Dispute
The highly publicized divorce and subsequent legal skirmishes have involved accusations of harassment, threatening messages, and alleged attempts to damage reputations. Gruffudd initiated legal action for a restraining order, citing Evans' continued harassment of him and his current partner, Bianca Wallace, despite previous warnings.
Evans has openly discussed her financial struggles on social media, detailing her family's near eviction from their Los Angeles home. Some reports have speculated that her candid online disclosures, while raising concern among followers, could be part of a strategic "game plan" aimed at a career revival.
The legal proceedings have also seen testimonies regarding alleged discussions by Evans about undermining Gruffudd's public image and targeting Wallace. Evans' defense has pointed to "complicated fan dynamics" during the proceedings.
