Specialist police are examining seatbelt use following a fatal single-vehicle collision in western Sydney. A man died after a Subaru struck a tree on Sunday afternoon in Dharruk, near Mount Druitt. Two toddlers were among five other occupants taken to hospital, authorities confirmed.

The incident unfolded on Stuart Road around 5:20 pm. Detectives are focusing their inquiries on the circumstances surrounding the crash, including the restraint devices employed by passengers. One man, police reported, was partially ejected from the vehicle.

Witnesses or individuals possessing dashcam footage from the time and location are being urged to contact Crime Stoppers. The crash involved six individuals in total.
