A NEW RECRUIT FOR MINNESOTA'S RECEIVER CORPS
The Minnesota Vikings have reached an agreement with receiver Jauan Jennings on a one-year contract. This deal, reported to be worth up to $13 million, addresses a perceived need for depth in the Vikings' pass-catching unit. Jennings joins a group that already features Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison.
The contract, structured with incentives, offers Jennings a chance to boost his value for a potential long-term extension next offseason. This arrangement suggests a "prove-it" scenario for the player.
Previous Stints and On-Field Persona
Jennings, 28, comes to Minnesota after spending his career with the San Francisco 49ers. During his tenure there, he accumulated 210 receptions for 2,581 yards and 22 touchdowns over five seasons. In his most recent two seasons, he recorded 132 receptions for 1,618 yards and 15 touchdowns.
He is known for a physical playing style and a history of agitating opponents. His contributions were highlighted during the 49ers' playoff run, including a notable performance on the "biggest stage" and even tossing two touchdown passes in playoff games, one of which was a 21-yard throw in Super Bowl LVIII.

Offseason Context and Departures
Jennings' move to the Vikings occurs after he reportedly sought a longer-term deal with San Francisco last summer, which led to him missing much of training camp. The 49ers, in turn, have since reshaped their receiver depth chart, acquiring players like Mike Evans and Christian Kirk, and drafting De'Zhaun Stribling.
For the Vikings, this signing comes after losing Jalen Nailor in free agency. The team had also hosted Jennings for a visit previously without a deal being struck. His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, confirmed the agreement to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
