The incident is being treated as targeted, with police noting that three males were seen departing the scene in a blue SUV. A vehicle fire occurring later may also be connected.
Authorities Hunt for Suspects, Vehicle
Officers arrived at the Kaiser Drive address, located near Martin Grove and Langstaff Roads, to find the two men deceased. Investigations are ongoing, and police have indicated an increased presence in the area. Reports suggest a blue SUV was observed leaving the vicinity shortly after the shots were fired, and authorities are actively seeking this vehicle and its occupants.
Pattern of Violence Across GTA Continues
This latest fatal incident adds to a series of violent events in the Greater Toronto Area. On April 6, 2026, two men sustained serious, non-life-threatening injuries in a daytime shooting near a Brampton townhouse complex. Prior to that, on April 4, 2026, two individuals were killed in a shooting that occurred late Friday night on the grounds of St. Joachim Elementary School in Brampton. Peel Regional Police stated they were searching for suspects in that case.

Previous Incidents and Wider Context
Further afield, a shooting in Calgary on a Monday evening resulted in the death of one man, identified as Leslie Babajid Cole, 35, who police believed was targeted. Another man present was not connected to Cole and survived his injuries. In a separate event on June 4, 2025, a shooting in Toronto's Lawrence Heights neighbourhood resulted in at least one fatality and five hospitalizations. A man in his 40s was pronounced dead at the scene.
A previous mass shooting in Vaughan in February 2023 resulted in six deaths, including the perpetrator. The shooter, Francesco Villi, 73, killed five residents of an upscale condo tower before being fatally shot by police. Among the victims were three members of the condo board. In June 2019, a triple shooting in northwest Toronto left two men dead: Christopher Teape, 25, and Ahmed Mohamud, 32. They were shot outside a residential highrise.
