Travon Walker, the defensive end acquired by the Jacksonville Jaguars as the first overall pick in the 2022 draft, has secured a new contract extension. The deal, announced Friday, spans four years and is valued at $110 million. This new agreement brings $77 million in total guarantees, with $50 million of that amount fully guaranteed upon signing. The contract translates to an annual average of $27.5 million, positioning Walker among the higher-paid edge rushers in the league, though not within the absolute top tier based on average annual salary.
Walker has participated in 60 career games for the Jaguars, recording 27.5 sacks, 200 tackles, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and 57 quarterback hits. He has shown consistent availability, missing only five games across his four seasons with the team. His tenure includes playing through injuries, such as a dislocated left wrist and a knee issue during the most recent season.

The extension comes as the Jaguars navigate roster needs, with reported areas for reinforcement including linebackers, a defensive tackle, a backup edge rusher, and defensive backs. Walker's deal, averaging $27.5 million annually, is noted as a significant sum, though it is described as a "fraction" of what other edge rushers have commanded in recent years.
Walker, 25, has played in 63 games for Jacksonville, starting 60. His statistical output includes 27 1/2 career sacks. His agency, Elite Loyalty Sports, confirmed the agreement.
