Tiger Woods, the celebrated golfer, has reportedly returned to the United States, landing in Florida following a nearly six-week stay at a rehabilitation facility in Switzerland. This marks his first appearance on American soil since his arrest in late March.
Woods' return coincides with ongoing legal proceedings related to a Driving Under the Influence (DUI) charge stemming from a single-vehicle rollover crash in Jupiter Island, Florida, on March 27th.
The golfer, who is 50 years old, was observed exiting a private jet at Palm Beach International Airport. He was reportedly dressed in casual attire, including a black hat, jacket, and sunglasses. His attorney, Douglas Duncan, had previously argued that the decision to seek treatment out of the country was due to the "complex clinical presentation" and the "urgent need for a level of care that cannot safely or effectively be done within the United States," citing privacy concerns.

Reports indicate Woods began his treatment at the "exclusive and ultra-expensive" Swiss facility on April 3rd, just days after his arrest and a judicial approval for international travel. While in Switzerland, he underwent a 40-day treatment program. The legal battle continues, with a Florida judge recently ordering that Woods' prescription records be provided to prosecutors as part of the DUI case.
Woods himself had acknowledged his intention to step back from public life on the same day he was charged. The March incident involved his Range Rover SUV and, according to a police report, the presence of two hydrocodone pills. Woods has pleaded not guilty to the charges, which also include property damage and refusal to submit a lawful urine test.
This period of rehabilitation follows a series of health setbacks for Woods. In late 2025, he underwent surgery for a ruptured Achilles tendon, an injury sustained during a practice session. Prior to that, he had dealt with ongoing back issues and had also missed competitive play due to the passing of his mother. The golfer has been candid about the slow pace of his recovery, even when cleared for certain physical activities like chipping and putting. The timeline for his return to competitive golf remains uncertain, with indications he would miss the beginning of the new TGL season.
