Charges Laid Following Keperra Supermarket Disturbance
Two teenage girls have been charged following an incident that led to a Woolworths supermarket in Keperra, Brisbane, being placed into lockdown yesterday afternoon. The store, located at the Great Western Super Centre, reportedly experienced a chaotic scene around 3pm, with items allegedly pulled from shelves and tossed about. The supermarket was closed for a cleanup operation last night and reopened today.
The two accused, aged 14 and 15, face multiple charges including willful damage and assault. One of the teenagers is also accused of common assault offences, with reports indicating a glass bottle was allegedly thrown from a shelf and shattered near a pregnant shopper.
Social Media Footage Captures Alleged Rampage
Footage circulating on social media purportedly shows the two teenagers moving through the store's aisles, leaving a trail of displaced merchandise. The disturbances led to shoppers becoming agitated, with some heard confronting the individuals in separate video clips. The incident prompted a lockdown of the Keperra Woolworths and affected the broader shopping centre.
