LEAGUE STANDING SHIFTS AMIDST GOAL SHORTLISTING
The context of these goal nominations arrives as the Scottish Premiership season approaches its close.
Celtic recently moved level on points with Scottish Premiership leaders Hearts following a 3-1 victory over Falkirk. Goals from Daizen Maeda (a brace) and Kieran Tierney secured the win for Celtic. This result placed Celtic second in the league.
Meanwhile, Rangers saw their title aspirations significantly hampered by a defeat to Motherwell, dropping them to third in the standings.
The Scottish Premiership itself is a professional men's football league in Scotland, with Celtic currently holding the title of champions from the previous season.
