The accuser's mother testified in court, describing her daughter's state after the alleged assault. She recounted receiving a distressed phone call from her daughter, who was reportedly crying hysterically. According to the mother's testimony, the teenager stated that Elmi had placed an arm around her and "tightened his grip." The girl had initially intended to stay at a friend's house, but her mother reported she became "more closed off" following the encounter. The mother subsequently contacted the police and went to pick up her daughter.
