Philadelphia police are looking for Michael White, 23, following a Wednesday night shooting that left a man dead in his car. Investigators have secured a murder warrant for White. The victim, Vaswani Brown, 35, died from wounds to his chest after an argument inside a market moved to the street.
The Wednesday Encounter
The clash began around 7:00 p.m. inside the Fresh Mini Market at Summerdale and Magee avenues. Surveillance cameras recorded White and Brown in a loud row before both men left the building.

"White fired three shots through the passenger side window while Brown sat in his SUV."
Police found Brown near his running vehicle in the parking lot. He was taken to Jefferson Health-Torresdale Hospital but was dead before 8:00 p.m.
Ballistics and Evidence
Officers found specific items at the scene that map out a lopsided exchange. While Brown was armed, his weapon remained unused.

| Item | Location | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| Shell Casings | Passenger side | Three spent casings found outside the SUV. |
| Victim's Gun | Driver's side | Semiautomatic with three live rounds; unfired. |
| Video Feed | Market Interior | Confirms a verbal fight preceded the gunfire. |
Family Context and Previous Friction
Brown's family describes him as a father of three who lived a few blocks away. His widow, Juanita Brown, told reporters that this was not a random spark. She claims video shows the same man who harassed her husband two weeks prior at the same shop.

Brown reportedly mentioned the earlier trouble to his family but didn't think it would end in a fight.
Police have not confirmed if the shooter was waiting for Brown or if the meeting was accidental.
No arrest has been made as of late Friday; White remains at large and armed.
Local Geography of Violence
The Oxford Circle area has seen persistent friction in its small retail hubs. While this case involves a named suspect and a specific argument, it follows a pattern of "convenience store friction" in Northeast Philly.
Background: Earlier this month, police announced an arrest in a different July 2024 killing at a Frankford store, suggesting a backlog of store-front homicides that detectives are only now closing. The Fresh Mini Market shooting adds to a heavy week for the homicide unit, which is relying on the market's surveillance grain to build the state's case against White.
