This marks a continuation of earlier demands for the digital currency, which first appeared in early February. The Pima County Sheriff's Department has acknowledged awareness of these reports.

The recurrence of these notes coincides with the return to work of Nancy Guthrie's daughter, Savannah Guthrie, a familiar face on the Today show. Earlier in the investigation, Savannah Guthrie expressed skepticism about many of the messages received by the family, differentiating them from those that appeared to hold more substance.

Authorities have maintained that Nancy Guthrie, 84, was the victim of a targeted kidnapping. Evidence found at her home, including drops of blood on the front porch, supports this theory. The initial disappearance was reported on February 1st, with Nancy Guthrie last seen at her Tucson, Arizona residence the night before.
