A 39-year-old man, Alex Jenkinson, faces charges of harassment following an incident near the Sandringham Estate where Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was allegedly threatened. Jenkinson has been charged with two counts of using threatening, abusive, or insulting words or behaviour intended to cause harassment, alarm, or distress. He is also charged with failing to provide a specimen of blood while in custody. Norfolk Police confirmed the charges, stating the incident occurred in Wolferton, near Mountbatten-Windsor’s current residence. Jenkinson, from Stowmarket, Suffolk, is in custody and scheduled to appear at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
The confrontation reportedly took place on Wednesday evening, shortly after 7:30 PM, as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was walking his dogs. Sources suggest the accused, wearing a balaclava, exited a parked car approximately 50 yards away and approached the former royal. Reports indicate Mountbatten-Windsor and his bodyguard were forced to retreat to their vehicle and drive away from the scene. The precise nature of the alleged threat and any specific weapon involved remain unclear, though initial reports mentioned suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.

The charging of Alex Jenkinson marks a formal progression following an arrest made earlier in the week. The incident has reignited discussions regarding the security of the former Duke of York, particularly given his recent relocation.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly Prince Andrew, now resides at Marsh Farm on the Sandringham Estate. This move followed his departure from the Royal Lodge in Windsor. His relocation is widely linked to the ongoing repercussions of his association with Jeffrey Epstein. While police have not released details on the specific weapon, one report indicated the man was initially arrested on suspicion of public order offences and possession of an offensive weapon. The former Duke and his protection officer are understood to have provided statements to the police.
