Man Arrested for Killing Sister, Her Alleged Partner
KODAGU, March 12, 2026 — Authorities in Kodagu have apprehended a 64-year-old man, identified as Chandu, in connection with the alleged murders of his sister, Yashodha, and her companion, Kunhirama. The incident, which unfolded in Kundacheri village, appears to stem from a dispute over the relationship between the deceased.

The police stated that Chandu, reportedly opposed to the union, attacked both Yashodha and Kunhirama with a knife following an argument. Preliminary investigations suggest the pair had been involved in a relationship for approximately two years. The victims' bodies have been transferred for post-mortem examination.
Incident Details and Background
The arrest occurred on Wednesday, with the Bhagamandala Police Station taking custody of the accused. While one report mentions the accused as 70 years old and claims the killings followed a heated argument after consuming alcohol at a local function, another specifies Chandu's age as 64. The exact age of the accused and the precise circumstances leading to the confrontation remain points of slight variation across initial reports.
