Jonathan Andic, son of the late Mango founder Isak Andic, has been arrested and detained in Spain as authorities investigate the death of his father. The elder Andic died after a fall of more than 100 metres from a cliff near Barcelona while hiking.
Police in Catalonia have shifted the investigation from an accident to a possible homicide, detaining Jonathan Andic as the sole witness to the incident. The 45-year-old, who holds the position of vice-chairman of the board at Mango and is one of his father's heirs, has been released on bail. However, he is currently restricted from leaving the region and must report to the court weekly.
The circumstances surrounding Isak Andic's fall have come under scrutiny. While initially treated as an accident, a judicial review reportedly changed Jonathan Andic's status from witness to potential suspect last month. Reports suggest a discrepancy in his initial statement regarding his father's phone usage during the hike, with an autopsy later confirming the phone was in the deceased's pocket at the time of the fall.

The Andic family has publicly maintained Jonathan's innocence, stating their confidence in his acquittal. Mango has declined to comment on the ongoing investigation.
Isak Andic, who founded the global fashion brand Mango, died in December of last year at the age of 71. The family, originally from Turkey, established their presence in Spain. Jonathan Andic had previously worked within Mango's retail operations.
