A fire at a 'gulal' (coloured powder) manufacturing unit in Haryana's Jind district has resulted in the deaths of four women and the injury of at least eleven others. The incident occurred in the Bhaat Colony residential area of Safidon. According to police, the blaze began near the factory's entry point, and smoke subsequently spread throughout the premises.

Workers reportedly attempted to escape the inferno by jumping from the factory roof. Emergency services, including the police and fire department, alongside local residents, worked to rescue those trapped inside. Reports indicate that a boundary wall was breached to facilitate the evacuation. The injured were transported to hospitals via ambulances.

The victims were all women, with ages ranging from 36 to approximately 50 years old. The fire allegedly erupted at the factory's entrance. Some accounts suggest the main gate might have been locked from the outside, potentially trapping workers within.
