Cambridgeshire Police have apprehended four individuals following the fatal stabbing of a 16-year-old boy near Peterborough's Ortongate Shopping Centre. The incident, which occurred shortly before 7 pm on Sunday, April 12, has led to a murder investigation.
An 18-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy, both from Peterborough, are currently in custody on suspicion of murder. Additionally, a 17-year-old girl from Peterborough and a 16-year-old girl from March have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. The 17-year-old girl is also being held on suspicion of possession of a bladed article. All four remain detained at Thorpe Wood police station.
Authorities were alerted to an attack on a teenager in Riseholme, an area adjacent to the Ortongate Shopping Centre. Emergency services, including paramedics, attended the scene. The victim was transported to hospital where he later died from his injuries. The area around the incident, specifically near the Orton Centre on Riseholme, has been cordoned off to facilitate police inquiries. An increased police presence is expected in the vicinity in the coming days.

This series of arrests follows a broad call from Cambridgeshire Police for any witnesses or individuals with relevant video footage of the incident to come forward.
