Florida Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna stated that more classified files concerning unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) may soon be disclosed. This comes after sustained congressional efforts to examine government records related to unexplained sightings and military investigations. Luna, a Republican, asserted that federal agencies have repeatedly impeded disclosure attempts. The material already released, according to Luna, includes military footage, aircraft observations, and previously classified records from federal probes. She specifically pointed to "bureaucratic agencies" as obstructors of efforts to broaden whistleblower protections and legislation concerning UAP disclosures.
The debate centers on transparency and public access to information regarding phenomena that have long been the subject of speculation and, more recently, official inquiry. Luna has been a vocal advocate for greater openness, arguing that the American public is entitled to the truth and should not be "shielded like children from reality." She has called for rigorous scientific inquiry rather than secrecy or silence.

Luna chairs the House Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets and has expressed intent to continue demanding answers and public access to what she describes as "previously hidden information on UAPs." Her push has gained attention, with reports of classified images confirming UAP claims and discussions of footage captured at Florida’s Eglin Air Force Base.
During a House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform hearing on September 9, 2025, Luna opened discussions focused on restoring public trust through UAP transparency. This hearing featured testimony from military whistleblowers who presented "new evidence" of alleged UAP encounters. Earlier in the year, on May 1, 2025, a congressional briefing titled 'Understanding UAP: Science, National Security & Innovation' reportedly revealed an image of a cruise ship-sized UAP observed beneath a commercial U.S. jet.
Luna has also raised concerns that critical UAP footage and data are being concealed under a classified "black congressional budget," effectively shutting out lawmakers and taxpayers from oversight of programs potentially involving advanced aircraft and unexplained phenomena. She has reportedly seen photographic evidence of UAPs in secure facilities. The push for declassification is not without controversy.
