The debut film from Ritwik Pareek, titled 'Dug Dug', has unveiled its trailer. The movie centers on a motorcycle that villagers come to believe possesses a spirit and grants wishes. This notion emerges after the bike's owner dies, and the vehicle itself becomes a subject of local fascination and mystery.
The film, described as a comedy-mystery satire, has already garnered international attention, having screened at various film festivals including the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles, MAMI Mumbai Film Festival, and the International Film Festival of Kerala.
The narrative kicks off with a recounting of a villager's demise, immediately establishing a tone of intrigue. The mystery deepens when the very motorcycle involved disappears from a police station, only to resurface at the precise location of the owner's death. This peculiar event fuels the villagers' burgeoning belief in the bike's supernatural capabilities.
'Dug Dug' is set for an India release on May 8. The cast includes Altaf Khan, Gaurav Soni, Yogendra Singh, and Durga Lal Saini. The film’s exploration is noted to touch upon the commercialization of faith, juxtaposing it with logic.
