Singer Duffy has announced her first live performance in over 15 years. The concert, which will feature new material, marks a significant step in her gradual reemergence after a prolonged period away from public life. The performance is being managed via a ballot system, with fans invited to apply through her social media channels.

The hiatus followed a harrowing experience of sexual assault and kidnapping, which the artist detailed earlier this year in a forthcoming Disney+ documentary.

Duffy, known for her breakout success with the album Rockferry, had disappeared from the music scene shortly after the release of her second album and the announcement of a planned third. Her absence had left fans and industry observers speculating about her whereabouts and the reasons for her withdrawal. The artist has previously indicated that the trauma of the assault and kidnapping, which ended when she managed to escape her captor, led her to step away from her career. The perpetrator remains unidentified.

The upcoming live show is not the only indication of her return. Earlier in the year, it was revealed that Duffy would share her full story in her own words for the first time in a Hulu Original documentary, covering her life from her upbringing in Wales to her early 2000s breakthrough, her subsequent decade-long retreat, and the assault that prompted it. This documentary is set to include interviews with family, friends, and peers from the industry.
Duffy's earlier career was marked by considerable acclaim, including a Grammy Award, an Ivor Novello Award, and three BRIT Awards. The success of Rockferry itself reached No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and achieved five-times platinum certification in the UK. The singer has expressed her desire to perform again, stating, "I will sing some new songs," and has shared images from a recording studio, signalling her active work on new music and her anticipation of reconnecting with her audience.
