Investigative Focus Intensifies as Vessel Taken into Custody
The United States Coast Guard has seized a sailboat as part of its ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Lynette Hooker, a Michigan mother who vanished in the Bahamas. The vessel, identified as the 'Soulmate,' departed Marsh Harbour in the Bahamas on Friday and was intercepted by the Coast Guard on Saturday while en route to the U.S. Sources close to the investigation, who spoke to CBS News, confirmed that the Coast Guard Investigative Service probe has intensified in recent days.
Coast Guard investigators have been actively conducting interviews with individuals who may possess relevant information regarding Hooker's whereabouts. Lynette Hooker's daughter, Karli Aylesworth, has acknowledged awareness of the 'Soulmate' leaving the Bahamas but stated she has not received any updates from the Coast Guard. The current location of Brian Hooker, Lynette's husband, remains unconfirmed, and his U.S.-based attorney declined to comment.

Inquiries Expand to Nearby Sailboat
In parallel developments, the Coast Guard has publicly appealed for information regarding a separate sailboat that was moored near the Hookers' vessel on the night Lynette Hooker disappeared. This request for public assistance, issued over the past few days, centers on identifying the owners of this mystery sailboat, located in Aunt Pat's Bay, between the locations where the 'Soulmate' was anchored and where Brian Hooker claims his wife fell overboard. The U.S. Coast Guard has encouraged the submission of tips through its dedicated app, emphasizing the possibility of anonymous submissions.
Husband Remains Subject of Scrutiny
The disappearance of Lynette Hooker, 55, on April 4, has cast a shadow of suspicion over her husband, Brian Hooker, 59. He reported his wife missing early on April 5, stating she fell overboard from a small dinghy while they were traveling back to their sailboat. Brian Hooker claimed to have lost sight of her after she allegedly fell overboard with the dinghy's keys, causing the engine to shut off. He subsequently paddled the dinghy back to shore.

Authorities in the Bahamas arrested and questioned Brian Hooker in connection with his wife's disappearance. However, no charges have been filed. His attorney has issued statements denying any involvement and requesting the public to "give him the benefit of the doubt." Brian Hooker departed the Bahamas on April 15, with his Bahamian attorney citing his desire to be with his terminally ill mother. The U.S. Coast Guard is conducting a separate criminal investigation into the matter.
Volatile Relationship Allegations Surface
Karli Aylesworth, Lynette Hooker's daughter from a previous marriage, has publicly questioned Brian Hooker's account of events. She has alleged that the couple endured a volatile relationship, referencing instances of alleged physical abuse, including choking and threats to throw Lynette overboard. Investigators are reportedly examining leads beyond the route described by Brian Hooker.
The initial incident reportedly occurred near Elbow Cay. Federal investigators are urging the public to come forward with any information that might shed light on Lynette Hooker's disappearance, a case that has been ongoing for over a month.
