Carolina Hurricanes have completed a decisive four-game sweep of the Philadelphia Flyers, securing their place in the Eastern Conference finals for the second consecutive season. The Hurricanes clinched the series with a 3-2 overtime victory on Saturday, maintaining an undefeated record of 8-0 in the postseason.
Jackson Blake scored the series-clinching goal 5:28 into overtime, his second of the game, to propel the Hurricanes to a 3-2 win over the Flyers and complete the sweep. The Flyers managed only five goals across the entire four-game series, a stark indication of their offensive struggles.
The Hurricanes' consistent performance extends beyond this series. They have not lost a playoff game this year, and their defense has been particularly stingy, allowing a league-low eight goals in their eight postseason contests. Goaltender Frederik Andersen has been a key factor, recording two shutouts and allowing two or fewer goals in every game.

Logan Stankoven also contributed a goal during regulation for Carolina. For the Flyers, Alex Bump and Tyson Foerster found the back of the net. Goaltender Dan Vladar made 15 saves for Philadelphia.
This sweep marks the second time the Hurricanes have advanced to the Eastern Conference finals in the last four seasons. Their previous playoff opponent, the Ottawa Senators, were also eliminated in four games in the first round.
In Game 4, Carolina's offense showed its versatility, scoring three times on special teams and once at even strength. This follows a pattern seen throughout the series, where goals have come from various players and situations.
Earlier in the series, the Hurricanes secured wins in Games 2 and 3. Game 2 saw Taylor Hall score an overtime winner, helping Carolina rally from an early two-goal deficit. Game 3 concluded with a 4-1 victory for the Hurricanes, with goals from Jordan Staal, Andrei Svechnikov, Jalen Chatfield, and Nikolaj Ehlers.
