Her 14-year-old companion, from Goodna, is charged with wilful damage, assault occasioning bodily harm, and common assault. Police attended the scene around 3 PM following reports of a disturbance. Wider Patterns or Isolated Incident?
This occurrence at the Keperra shopping hub isn't an isolated flashpoint in recent Queensland events. The area has seen other youth-related incidents that have drawn police attention and public discourse.

Echoes of Past Mayhem
Just last Tuesday, a stabbing reportedly occurred at the Alexandra Hills Shopping Centre on Brisbane's southside, involving two teenage boys and a 49-year-old man. The boys allegedly fled after the man sustained a chest injury. Separately, a man, 69, was allegedly bashed at a bus stop outside Westfield Carindale in March 2024. Footage showed two youths attacking the man.
Furthermore, the charged atmosphere surrounding juvenile crime has been amplified by high-profile cases. In July 2025, a teenager pleaded guilty to the murder of 70-year-old Vyleen White, an event that contributed to the implementation of Queensland's "adult crime, adult time" legal reforms. The 16-year-old pleaded guilty to murder and other charges in Brisbane Supreme Court.
A social media trend also saw a large group, estimated at over 200 people, storm the Church of Scientology in Brisbane recently, leading to climbed vehicles and confrontations with police. Another incident from the same period involved an 18-year-old who allegedly fell to his death from a Brisbane hotel while trying to evade police following property crime allegations. The Queensland Police have been involved in these varied, often unsettling, events that populate the state's recent crime logs.
