Former India cricketer Mohammad Kaif has advocated for Kumar's inclusion, noting the bowler's ability to unsettle high-level batters through swing. Kaif expressed this view after the RCB-DC encounter, where Kumar reduced Delhi to 18/3 during the opening overs while defending a target of 176.
Kaif's Consistent Endorsement
Kaif's support for Bhuvneshwar Kumar is not a new development. He has previously spoken on the bowler's career trajectory, alleging Kumar was not treated appropriately by the Indian team setup.

In September 2025, Bhuvneshwar Kumar himself addressed questions about his future with the national squad. He stated that a return would ultimately depend on the decisions of the selectors.
